New Host

Filed under: Site News — Scott @ 3:39 pm

You might have noticed that Aperture Tricks has moved to the WordPress platform. While I appreciated Blogger, WordPress makes it easier to administer the archives. I have also disabled the Google ads. If you had previously subscribed to ApertureTricks’ RSS feed, you will need to resubscribe using our new feed. Here’s the new feed: http://feeds.feedburner.com/Aperturetrickscom. You can also bookmark the new URL directly at http://www.aperturetricks.wordpress.com.

The good news is that the switch has allowed me to  break down the archives into categories. For instance, if all you want to do is look through the tricks, click on the “Tricks” category and all the posts will be filtered.

I am sorry for any inconvenience this switch may cause, but in the long run, the site will be more valuable using this new platform. Thanks for reading Aperture Tricks and if you have comments or contructive suggestions on how I can improve the site, please contact me at aperturetricks@aol.com.

Send your tricks, tips and announcements to aperturetricks@aol.com.

Remember if you send me a tip or trick, I’ll enter your name into my monthly drawing. (US residents only.)

On March 1, I’ll give away Introduction to Aperture (Peachpit Press) and two LexJet sample packs of inkjet paper worth $40 each.

I’m also collecting information on all Aperture-related projects and products. If you know of an Aperture book, product or project, please send me your information.

I’m also collecting information on the differences between Aperture and Lightroom. If you know of something that Aperture can do but Lightroom cannot, please let me know.

And it looks like my fully-loaded MacBookPro is close to shipment. I anxiously await the completion of the crossgrade and will report on the new Apple laptop’s performance running Aperture.

And lastly, there are a few spots left for the Aperture class that Derrick Story and I are teaching in San Francisco on March 17, 18, 2006. For more information go to Pixel Corps.

Site News & Housekeeping

Send your tricks, tips and announcements to aperturetricks@aol.com.

Thanks for your interest in Aperturetricks.com. I really appreciate the Aperture community’ support for my work on this site. And this is a reminder that I can’t do it alone. I rely on my audience. You’re the most important part of this site. Please send me announcements, news, product info, information on new books and of course your favorite Aperture tricks and tips. If you send info to me you’ll automatically be entered into our monthly drawing.*

I’m also keeping a diary of information on Aperture’s competition Lightroom. If you know of something Aperture will do that Lightroom won’t, send it to me and I will publish the results here next month.

Derrick Story and I are teaching a course in Aperture in San Francisco March 17 and 18th. Contact me here or visit the Pixel Corps website for more information. The fee for this class is $249.

We have lots of tips and tricks on the site. Be sure to check the archives and you can use the Google search bar to look for our older tricks.

And also remember that all tricks are valid on the date they are posted but since Aperture is a new application, there’s no guarantee that they will still work as Apple updates the program.

Thanks for visiting Aperture Tricks!

Don’t forget the archives…

Filed under: Site News — Scott @ 7:06 am

Send your tricks, tips and annoucements to aperturetricks@aol.com.

Believe it or not, after a mere six weeks or so of blogging, we have 26 Aperture tricks available for you here at Aperturetricks.com. So be sure to look for the archives in the nav bar on the right and click through the older months to get all the goods.

And if anyone is a Blogger expert and has an idea how I could create a more valuable reference to the archives or a better master list of all tips I am all ears. I’m not sure what we’ll do when we’re up to 300 tips but it’s a problem I am looking forward to.
