When creating a new custom naming convention to use with exported versions or masters, access the Export Presets dialog box. Click on the + sign to create and save a new naming convention, then specify the parameters to use by checking them. The order in which you check the boxes determines the order they appear in the name. If you wish to add descriptive text to the name, choose custom, but leave the text field blank in this dialog box. The text field will appear again in the Export dialog box where you can fill it in as desired. This way you’ll create a generic preset to use that reflects your preferred naming conventions and also have the ability to customize it quickly for each export.

Thanks Ellen Anon for providing this trick.
