While I disagree with their conclusion or speculation that Aperture’s future is in doubt, I do agree that the launch of Aperture has been badly played. And hopefully new blood on the team will bring Aperture into focus.

There’s no denying that the concepts and approach Apple used to create Aperture are golden. The workflow is brilliant and the compare and select features have saved me a bunch of time.

But poor marketing and positioning combined with Apple’s insane desire for super secret everything led to poor communication with customers and problems that needed to be fixed. Hopefully this is the first step down that road.
